Kalasatama Surf-N'-Art City

Kalasatama Surf-N’-Art City brings art, city life, design and surfing into one urban set-up. /\/\/ (Artwave Surf™) is a Finnish technology innovation for creating surfable waves in natural waters. The first /\/\/ surf spot opens up in Kalasatama Surf-N'-Art City this summer.
'The Black Box: Helsinki Mobile Museum of Modern Art' street gallery brings art to the site. The 'MO – Modular Outdoor Surf-N'-Art Lounge' introduces a new minimalistic product for building flexible spaces for cities and urban events, creating a meeting point for hanging out, watching people surf, checking out art, and enjoying quality coffees mixed in the nearby coffee bar Ihana Kahvila.
Surf-N'-Art City is open with guided tours, presentations and questions & answers -sessions on Thursdays and Fridays at 16.00-17.00 and on Saturdays at 14.00-15.00 during the Aalto Festival, weather permitting.
At other times it is possible to explore the area freely. The surf park site provides open spaces for hanging out, and the surf machine's structures are being constructed next to it. The site is surrounded by seashore, bicycle route, a DIY-sauna, graffiti walls, urban farming lots and a container café which is open on most sunny days.
