The physical space is always crucial for Space Invaders but at the same time the situations that become present and visible through the works of art are just as important. One key element is to make art and exhibitions more accessible for people who don’t consider themselves as the typical audience for art or culture.

Space Invaders is an ongoing project created and curated by Anna Jensen and Eliisa Suvanto. Annually the event takes over an abandoned location and brings visual art, performance, music and research together. Space Invaders is now organized for the fourth time. Each year the aim is to build something special and both time and site specific; something which can never reappear exactly the same.
