The exhibition Green Infrastructures in Finnish Cities displays the works developed by the students of the course Green Area Planning held at Aalto University during the fall of 2017.

The central objectives of the course were to explore the definition of meaningful and multifunctional green infrastructures and the maximization of the associated ecosystem services in the cities of Tampere, Oulu, Espoo, and Turku.

Apart from the formal definition of green infrastructures, the course dug deeper into their potential performance by assessing, with the adequate indicators, their environmental, ecological and social functions and by showing how nature, in all its scales and contexts, can contribute to the creation of more sustainable regions and cities.
